Book Discussion on [From Slavery to Freedom] - C-SPAN Video Library"Mr. Franklin spoke about his book From Slavery to Freedom: A History of African-Americans, published by Knopf. The book provides an account of the African-American experience from their origins in the civilizations in Africa, through years of slavery in the New World, to the successful struggle for freedom in the West Indies, Latin America and the United States. The book, currently in its eighth edition, was originally published in 1947.
